Balayage, Babylights & Blonding
Blonding is what AGENCÉ is known for. Founder Erik Gutierrez built his name as a luxury blonde specialist, and our San Dimas and Old Town Monrovia salons are home to artists who focus on lived-in balayage, fine babylights, high-contrast blondes and full transformations. Every blonding service starts with a consultation about your hair history and the result you want, then your artist chooses the technique.
Blonding menu
Add a K18 bond-building upgrade for extra protection during lightening. It may already be included in select signature, corrective or intensive blonding services when your stylist decides it is right for your hair. Finish with a gloss between appointments to keep your tone fresh.
Which blonding service is right for you?
- Want a soft refresh? The Detail brightens the face frame and hairline.
- Want natural, sun-kissed dimension? The Dimension or The AGENCÉ Look, depending on how much brightness you want.
- Going from dark to blonde, or changing a lot? The Transformation.
- Want blonde from root to tip? The Statement.
Not sure? Book by the result you want, and your artist will customize the service. Read our guide: babylights vs highlights vs balayage.

Your artist will recommend the right home care. Guests often ask about toning shampoo and bond repair: shop color care and repair & strength, ship anywhere in the US or pick up at the salon.
Blonding FAQs
How much does balayage cost at AGENCÉ?
Blonding starts at $175 for The Detail (face frame), $295 for a partial highlight, $395 for babylights and $400 for major blonding or bleach and tone. Final pricing depends on your artist, hair length, density and color history.
How long does a blonding appointment take?
It depends on the service and your hair. A face frame is the shortest. Babylights, transformations and bleach and tone are longer appointments, so plan for a good part of the day. Your artist can give you a time estimate when you book.
Can I go from dark hair to blonde in one visit?
Sometimes, but not always. It depends on your starting color, any past color or box dye, and the condition of your hair. Your artist may plan the change over more than one appointment to protect your hair. The Transformation is not available for hair with box dye.
Do I need a consultation first?
New guests complete an online client questionnaire before their appointment so your artist can review your hair history. Color corrections require a consultation before booking. For big changes, calling the salon first is the best way to be matched with the right artist.
Which AGENCÉ salon should I book?
Both salons offer the full blonding menu. Book San Dimas (150 W Bonita Ave) or Old Town Monrovia (120 E Lemon Ave, Ste C), whichever is closer, or book with a specific artist.
